Are you looking for a simple explanation for concepts in environmental sciences and ecology?
(Yes, we fully understand the frustration one goes through after the lecturer rattles points off a PowerPoint presentation and now, you have no clue what “pools” and “fluxes” in an ecosystem mean.)
Are you exploring the fulfilling world of sustainable living?
Or are you simply trying to understand the environmental movement?
If you are…
You’re in the right place.
At Eco-intelligent, we unravel the world of environmental sciences and sustainable living.
We also share our thoughts on the wider environmental movement, critiquing experts, influencers, current affairs, art, and national and global policies about sustainability and the environment.
Our mission is to help you learn at least one new thing about the environment today.
We hope this knowledge can help you pass your exams, complete your assignments, discuss the environmental crisis with your loved ones or take steps to live a little more harmoniously with the natural world.
If you leave our website with a better understanding of the natural world or the tools to positively impact the natural world or both, we will have achieved a small part of our vision:
To make the world ecologically intelligent.
Or as we call it…
Browse the Menu, explore the Home Page or Search for what your mood fancies!
You will find…
…posts on natural resources management, disaster management, environmental law and policy, climate change, ecology, sustainability and much more on this environment blog. Most of the blog posts are specific to India, but we explore international topics and issues as well.
We try to share as much of our content in the form of stories, which we believe is the single-most powerful tool for human communication. Our stories can take many forms:
- Real-life analogies
- Case studies
- Opinion pieces
- Features about organizations and companies doing some exceptional work
(Of course, some posts may not follow this system, especially conceptual/coursework related posts for the environmental students out there.)
In September 2015, Eco-intelligent began as a simple collection of letters addressed to the world on the gross environmental degradation occurring in the world. There was no agenda or dream; it was just a way to “vent”. (Some of these letters are still online, just search for “letters to the 21st century humans.)
In September 2016, when I (i.e. Saurab) enrolled for a Master’s degree in Environment Management, the blog became an efficient way to record additional course material that could be of use to his classmates and other environmental science students in India and the world.
As the audience and appreciation grew, the blog evolved to what it is today: a platform for readers to understand natural processes and learn to live in tune with these processes. We are a part of the ecosystem.
